Eimear Nicholls Triathlete

Eimear Nicholls always had a love for the outdoors

Eimear Nicholls, nee Mullan grew up with a real love of the outdoors and has always been passionate about sports, representing her country across a variety of disciplines.

Competitive calling

After originally competing in Tetrathlon, she took a break from competitive sport to study for a degree in Sports Psychology, but couldn’t ignore the call of a challenge.

Whilst studying to become a PE teacher, she found the sport of triathlon and soon won numerous amateur titles at the Sprint and Olympic distance.

In 2011, she moved to long distance triathlon and won her first professional race. Soon after, she joined one of the world’s top triathlon teams and went on to take the Triathlon world by storm.  She is Ireland’s only Ironman Champion and has represented Northern Ireland at the Commonwealth Games.

Interesting facts

  • Ireland’s first and so far only Ironman champion & record holder
  • 3 x Ironman champion and 8 x 70.3 champion
  • Silver medal at European middle distance championships
  • Former Irish duathlon champion
  • Former British duathlon and triathlon champion (as an amateur)

family and the future

To add to the list of successes, Eimear had her first child, Rui, in 2018 and since then has been keeping as active as possible (while also running after a toddler!).

She manages to squeeze her training in to her now very busy days but with a genuine love for sport, motivation for training is never a problem.

She is currently preparing for some exciting races and new challenges.

As a proud ambassador, eimear's favourite is

'Packed full of protein and high in fibre, I love the Five Nut Mix. I can use it as a pre or post workout snack, or throw it onto a salad or stir-fry or an extra protein boost. A win win when you are a busy active mum.'
